The important information

Please take reasonable care to answer all questions honestly and to the best of your knowledge. If you don't, your policy may be cancelled or treated as if it never existed or your claim rejected or not fully paid.

We can only accept accurate and factually correct information to allow us to provide you with a price for the cover. This will ensure:

  • there are no complications or delays during the claims process
  • your policy is not cancelled due to misrepresentation leaving your pet uninsured and at risk

Cover can start today or any date in the next 30 days as long as your pet is at least 5 weeks old at that time. If any information has changed from the application date and before the policy start date you will need to let us know.

Make sure you provide a valid, current email address as we try to use electronic means to contact you whenever possible. It's not only better for the environment, but also means you can get the information you need as quickly as possible. Plus if you agree we can keep you informed about special offers on this and other products we offer. Please advise us immediately if your contact details change.

How we will use your data

We will use your data for the purpose of providing you with a quote and this will include sharing data with our insurers and other third parties. We, or the insurers will carry out checks with external databases such as credit reference agencies and publically available sources of information as part of this process to enable us to verify the information you provide, to assist us in providing the quote and for fraud prevention. If you have previously held a product with Ultimate Insurance Solutions or obtained a quote in the past, we may carry out checks against the data we already hold on you.

Assumptions

Please read and accept the assumptions below:

  1. Third party liability is not covered at your place of work.
  2. You accept that previous, existing, ongoing, recurring medical conditions such as incidents, injuries and illnesses will not be covered by your pet insurance policy.
  3. You accept that claims for vet fees following an illness or accident that occurred prior to, or within the first 14 days of your pet insurance policy start date will not be covered.
  4. You accept that claims for death benefits resulting from an illness or an accident that occurred prior to, or within the first 14 days of your pet insurance policy start date will not be covered.
  5. You are a resident of the United Kingdom, the owner and keeper of the pet, and the pet is kept in the United Kingdom at the address you have provided.
  6. Your pet has no vicious tendencies or been trained to attack.
  7. Your pet has not been the cause of any accident or legal action or third party liability claims.
  8. You have never had any special terms imposed on a pet insurance policy covering your pet.
  9. Your pet is not used for any guard, security, track racing, coursing, or used in connection to any business, trade, profession, commercial breeding or occupation.
  10. You agree to take proper and reasonable care of your pet at all times, in line with the Animal Welfare Act.
  11. Your pet must have received vaccinations/boosters within the last 12 months or as advised by your vet. If this is not the case, you accept that the medical conditions that your pet is normally protected against by such vaccinations/boosters will not be covered by this insurance policy.
  12. Your pet does not appear on the list of unacceptable breeds (see below).

Unacceptable Breeds

Any breed not showing within the breed picklist including American Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero, Japanese Tosa, Pit Bull, Pit Bull Terrier, Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Wolf, wolf hybrid, or a dog crossed with any of these, or any animal registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and The Dangerous Dogs (Northern Ireland) order 1991 or Dangerous Dogs (amendment) Act 1997 or any subsequent amendments.
